Hoodia Weight Loss Patch Problems Fact

Weight loss patches are viewed by many as a substitute for diet tablets, but in recent years, the US Federal Trade Commission has issued a warning against the use of a weight loss patch for weight loss as a number of companies make misleading claims about its effectiveness. A weight loss patch claims to help in weight loss by either suppressing your appetite or helping you burn excess fat, attached to the skin it releases appetite suppressants and other chemical substances into your body.

As its absorption is through the skin into the blood as opposed to the stomach it is believed to be more affective than tablets as none of the nutrients an chemicals are lost. The method used is called trans dermal transfer and is used in other ways to introduce drugs slowly into the system and in this instance, chemicals to help easy the desire to eat and others to help increase the metabolic rate.

This is a recognized and safe system of delivering chemical substances and is only able to work with molecules small enough to be able to pass through the dermis or skin and into the blood. This allows a massive ninety five percent of the medication to be absorbed which is far higher than traditional methods of delivery.

The important component of this process is the size of the molecules used because if they were too large the absorption wouldn’t happen. Most weight loss systems make use of certain chemical substances depending on what they are trying to achieve including caffeine, chromium and hydroxycitric acid, all of which can be found in weight loss patches.

A number of manufacturers have now started developing and marketing their own versions of the patch, however some are more effective than others and many experts agree that there are other aspects that may need to be considered when assessing the efficiency of these patches. A weight loss skin patch can operate in a number of ways and apart from administering needed amounts of a particular weight loss supplement, the patch makes it easier for anyone who wears it to stick by whatever weight loss method they are using owing to the psychological effect of wearing it.

To ensure the patches work at their best, they should be stuck to clean dry areas on the body, preferably the back. It is not merely dirt that can cause issues when placing the patch but also hair so if you do not wish to remove any hair, find another place to stick it to.

The patch must be in complete contact with the skin or only partial amounts of the chemical substances will be absorbed plus it will make it simpler to remove when finished. Ensuring the patch does not get wet is also important because the water may affect the chemical constitution and as a consequence it won’t deliver the correct amount into the skin. Weight loss products are by and large more successful when they are used in combination with other products in an overall health plan and weight loss patches are no different.
