80% of your diet should be fresh fruit and veggies and 20% should be protein and/or carb.

So if you take a dinner plate, divide it into fifths. Eat one fifth of it as carb/protein and the rest fresh fruit and veggies.

    You’ll lose weight.

You should be eating healthy as-is if you are a vege. Portion control and regular exercise is what you really need.

I am vegetarian and I did the South Beach diet. I lost 6 pounds in the first week! If you sign up through the website, you can adjust your diet for being veggie. It’s an option and it compiles your recipes and completes your shopping lists for you. Very easy.

Otherwise, yes portion control. If you eat carbs they should be complex, not highly processed. Look at the labels and make sure you are getting at least 4 grams of fiber per serving. There are whole grain options for everything these days. You want food that is as close to the way it occurs n nature as possible, so steal cut oats that you have to cook on the stove top, instead of microwave packets. Oats can have 5 or 6 grams of fiber and are delish with a little honey or fruit to jazz them up. If you can microwave it, don’t eat it. They have essentially processed all the fiber out of the food wo that it will cook faster in the micro.

    Hope that helps. Good luck!

Get and read the book “Skinny B*tch” by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. It has the best advice in the world for women who want to lost weight. I’ve lost ten pounds so far just by changing my diet. The weight is still going, but it’s slower now that I’m doing muscular-strength training.

Well through research I have learned that for a healthy eating plan it’s best just to get off the dairy to start with!
Just wait…the breast milk from a human, swine, or bovine breast, etc is meant to make a little mammal into a BIG Mammal! A cow doubles its weight in 45 days. Imagine your energy intake as money. Spend on a pile of unsatisfying sugar or some well prepared minimally processed foods that you enjoy and feel good about after you’ve eaten them. Tastes adjust. It will take a couple weeks to adjust to new foods.

Look at sources of concentrated energy that doesn’t give you much in return: limit/eliminate fried foods, flour is highly processed, especially white flour. Don’t do it. Whole intact grains are best: oats, amaranth, Quinoa, Spelt, Triticale, Wheat Berry, Wild Rice, Brown Rice..so many visit bulk foods @ a Co-op. Sugar and Alcohol are also very important to monitor/limit. Those are areas I would look at to eat healthier!

You are a 13 year old girl who weighs 85 pounds.

You do not need to lose weight.
