I do 30-40 min of weights a day, but I’m not sure the best way to get cardio in….is it better to do an extended session say atleast an hour, or to do two possibly three shorter sessions of 30-40 min. I have problems with my feet and back and the longer sessions tend to irritate that. But I know it takes a certain amount of time to burn off sugars and start burning fat. So am I just spinning my wheels doing shorter sessions?
Paintball, you sprint alot….. you usually sprint the best when your being shot at
well it depends, if you want to lose more weight you should do 2 or 3 sessions of 30-40 minutes throughout the day because you will actually be doing more work and keeping your metabolism up which will burn fat. I usually tend to wake up go for a nice quick run, come back and do whatever needs done for the day and do about 30 min of cardio every 4-5 hours that way i keep my metabolism up and also my energy. I recomend using turbo jam as your cardio workout i have been using it for 2 months and seen great results because of it!!! hope that helps
The length session is less important to your heart rate during. You want to have your heart rate at 60% for about 20 mins 3 times a week. If you take too much over for too long you stop burning fat and start burning muscle. Researchers are actually finding out though that the people that lose the most weight the fastest are the ones that do just anerobic (weight lifiting) exercises. So I would add some good weight lifting workout. I am not telling you to stop cardio, cause a good strong cardiovascular system is good too but more muscle mass means more energy consumption.
Chris is wrong. You would probably make too big a target for paintball… and besides, sprinting is not cardio-friendly exercise. I think you’re doing just the right thing if you’re spending 30-40 minutes a day doing something that elevates your heart rate and makes you sweat. You just have to be patient. You’ll lose about 5 pounds a week, but the pounds will stay off of you if you maintain that exercise plan.
might be a good idea to so other forms of exercise as well such as yoga and walking. find yoga routines and more on exercises on this site
