Minimizing the carbohydrate intake of a person is the major key to success of the Scarsdale Diet. Of course, like any diet program, there are the pros and cons regarding this particular diet.

The Positive Points of Scarsdale Diet:

quick weight loss which as much as one pound per day

No need to count calories or fats when eating foods

You can eat as much portion or size as you want

Everyday plan is well-prepared already in advance; no thinking on your part will be required

Very easy to follow

The Negative Points of Scarsdale Diet:

No in-between snacks can be taken; strictly there will be only three meals each single day that will be consumed

Very low requirement for carbohydrate intake

Taking up of herbal appetite suppressants which may be detrimental to some people like for these with heart diseases

Sudden weight loss will be attained but on a short term basis only since once you cease from

practicing the diet, there’s a big possibility of gaining weight again

No exercise required (though for some this might be an advantage)

Breakfast – ½ orange, 1 plain toasted bread, 1 plain coffee or tea

Lunch – Chicken breast with lettuce, coffee/tea/diet soda

Dinner – Green salad, Fish
