In most cases,an everyday bathroom scale should function quite adequately—But,unless you’re of ‘behemoth’ weight, you might require, and therefor consider utilizing, a ‘freight’ scale.

I find the best way is by clothing. You lose weight in different areas at different times. The scale does not separate the fat from the muscle. If you work out alot or are building muscle, the scale will not move or it will look like you are gaining again.
Good luck and Make your goal a new outfit you saw.

I just got done reading “You on a Diet” by Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen. Dr. Oz is always on Oprah and let me tell you it was extremely enlightening. They suggest going by your waist measurement, not your weight, because everyone is different. This is also a website where you can find some great information from the book and suggestions. It will tell you your ideal weight for your height and age, or at least within a few pounds. Good Luck and keep up the good work!!

What hole you are using on your belt.

Cutting back on sodium and drinking more water will make it llok like you’ve lost more fat than you have (both still healthy).

Muscle gains from working out will make it look like you’ve lost less bodyfat than you have.

The other option, have a certified personal trainer give you a caliper-body fat analysis once every two months.
