Can a doctor find out if you are taking a certain medication w/o you notifying him?

I will be taking Phentermine (weight loss pill; look it up if you must) & I also need to schedule a doctor’s appointment. Can the doctor find out that I’m taking this without me telling her? (i.e. through a blood or urine sample)
does it matter? Why wouldn’t you just tell her your taking it. she wouldn’t see it if she wasn’t looking for it….
Not without a blood test, unless you are having side effects of a certain med, that he knows of.
yea tell can find out the medication ur taking
Yes but the doctor would have to be looking for something, say within that class of drug. To put it another way, a cholesterol test is not going to show you are taking phentermine.
The doctor is more apt to notice your behavior or blood pressure and wonder what’s going on. You may not realize that you are behaving in a way that’s different than you usually do and the doctor may well note it in your chart.
Why would you want to hide this from your doctor? They can help you with weight loss. Also, if they need to prescribe you any other meds for any reason, they need to know everything you are taking or you can get a very bad medication interaction.
You should always own up to what you are taking in case anything they prescribe conflicts with what you are having. Some of the outcomes can be very dangerous if you get the mixes wrong.
